July & August Favourites | 2016

I was a little naughty last month and I didn’t do my July favourite because I was working a lot but that shouldn’t be an excuse. Anyways, so this month I thought I’ll do a joint favourites kind of like a ‘Summer favourites’ as July &  August are summer months. England has had great sunshine this year with a few rainfalls in between, but we can look past that. Lets get started on the summer favourites.

Instax Mini 8
In July I went on two holidays, one was to Dubai and the other was to Scotland. I carried my Instax Mini literally everywhere so that I could capture the memories and have them ready to hang up on my wall when I got back home. I got this as a present last year from my brother and only used it a few times but I was glad I got a lot of use out of it on holiday.

Giorgio Armani luminous silk foundation
Another favourite of my on holiday. I wore this while I was in Dubai everyday and not once did I feel it was melting off my face because of the heat. Even by the end of the night it was still on my face. The colour matches me perfectly, I use the shade 9. The only downside of this foundation is the smell. For the price you pay for this foundation you wouldn’t expect it to smell chemically. Anyone else think the same? I can say that once I apply it I can’t smell it so it doesn’t annoy me too much.

Too Faced Hangover Primer
I think I’ve mentioned this primer in a monthly favourites before but I literally haven’t stopped using it ever since I bought it so it deserves to be in my favourites again. It’s hydrating and moisturizing so it kept my skin well replenished during the hot weather. I would definitely recommend it for someone with dry skin.

Kat Von D Shade & Light Contour Palette + Brush
When I went to Dubai I knew I was going to end up in a Sephora at least once and I also knew I wanted to get some Kat Von D products. So I ended up getting her contour palette which was on the top of my list and guess what? I have stopped using it all summer. It’s so pigmented but not to a point where the powders look bad on your face. My favourite powders to use and the two middle ones and the bottom left. I got this palette in a set so it also came with a brush and I absolutely love this brush and it has also made it to my My top 10 | Brushes . Check out all of them.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick – Lolita
I definitely wanted to try some of her liquid lipsticks so I got two shades and this one become my favourite to wear day-to-day. It’s a perfect nude for my skin tone even though it look light in the tube. The formula is great and so is the design on packaging, although I had to get this one exchanged because the first one had broken lid on the tube.

L’Oreal True Match Foundation
I didn’t really love this when I took it on holiday with me but for work it has been the perfect foundation. I have literally worked nearly every night in August and to make me look a little awake I used True Match. I would look so ill or tired with a bare face but with this foundation I would get a perfect glow. My shade is 8.D/8.W – Cappuccino Dore/Golden Cappuccino.

HudaBeauty Lip Contour
I heard a lot about the Lip Contours and the first Sephora I went to in Dubai I saw the stand with all of them in stock so how could I resist? I picked up two colours; Cheerleader and Famous. I love both of them but my favourite would have to be Famous. It’s a beautiful berry/purple colour and I love these kind of colours on my skin tone. I now also have the HudaBeauty liquid matte in Famous too, swatches will be up soon.

Makeup Forever Mist & Fix + Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray
The last thing you want on a hot summers day is your make up melting off your face so a good setting spray is needed. I used the MUF Mist & Fix to bring a little moisture to my face and to fix my make up and then the UD All nighter setting spray on top to lock everything down for the whole day/night. These two together work so well and I loved using it on holiday and also during my birthday time. Need to get the bigger sizes as these are running out but they are so handy to travel with in the smaller sizes.

Well these were my favourites and I know it was long so sorry for that but hope you enjoyed reading it. Hope everyone had a great summer and good luck with school, uni or even work. Let me know what you favourites were down below.
