Jeffree Star Velour liquid lipstick | Review

For Christmas I received some money and I instantly knew what I wanted to get with it. If you haven’t seen what else I got for Christmas then check out What I got for Christmas | 2016I only bought two for now but you’ll find out if I’ll be buying more of not after this review. Enjoy!

Packaging

Let’s start with what we see first, the packaging. I like the simple packaging with the logo going down the box, and the name of the colour at the top of the box. The boxes are different colours because they are from his different ranges. Pink box is from his original line and the red box is from his Christmas range. He also has a yellow box for his summer range but I’m not too keen on those colours. The bottle lids also correspond to the box. The applicator I thought was a little flimsy but I can work with it.

Colours

For a long time I wanted to try androgyny but i always thought it might not look good on my skin colour. But I still took a chance on it and I do like it. It’s a perfect blush nude mauve for a day to day use, something I would definitely wear a lot – swatches below. I also wanted unicorn blood I bought these off Beautybay.com and they unfortunately didn’t stock it. So i went for designer blood instead which in the Christmas collection I guess. It’s a beautiful rusty red and looks really nice on my skin tone. I wore it for New Years Eve and I loved the colour. Click here to have a look.

Formula

They are very creamy and dry quite quickly on the lips which I think is really good because I know I would probably end up touching or smudging it. Although it is quick to set I do think it’s not smudge proof. I can definitely say they are waterproof, I did test it out under a running tap. Another thing I was surprised about is the stay power. After swatching these on my arm it took me literally 5 minutes to take them off, crazy I know! I do like the formula but I don’t think it’s my number 1.

Price

I bought them off Beautybay.com and they cost me £16 each. They each have 5.4ml of product. Hudabeauty Liquid matte have 5ml of product and cost £18 so if I compared them together then they are worth the price, you get more for a cheaper price. But you know me then you’ll know Hudabeauty liquid mattes are my all time favourite.

Are they worth it?

In conclusion I think these are definitely worth it. I think you get a lot for the price you pay and the formula is great. I love the colours I got and I want to get a few more that I have my eyes on, ha. I’m not the bright colours type so I will definitely be staying away from them.
